Citizen Science Day is tomorrow, April 13th. Are you going celebrate? Or maybe you’ve never even heard of it? That’s okay, that’s what we’re here for!
Citizen Science Day is an annual event hosted by the Citizen Science Association. The event is dedicated to the celebration of how science and the general population harmonize. Things like volunteer programs, passion projects and STEM trailblazers are just some of the things highlighted at this event!
This year, Citizen Science Day is teaming up with SciStarter to spread the word about CitSci Day! SciStarter is an organization dedicated to matching up people with scientific events and projects happening across the country. In addition to that, SciStarter also keeps track of various scientific contributions and makes available the resources needed for ‘citizens’ (hence the name!) to participate in citizen science projects. Use the handy widget below to see how you can get involved!
Pretty cool, right? If you think that’s cool, some careers actually do what CitSci organizers do! Journalists, Urban Planners, Construction Managers and Game Wardens all have careers that involve bringing STEM to citizens. Whether it’s raising awareness with writing, improving peoples’ lives with urban projects or protecting the wildlife population! Check out more STEM careers here!
